The International Society of Urban Health and the University of Manchester are happy to announce that due to high demand, abstract submission for the 11th International Conference on Urban Health, being held in Manchester, United Kingdom, on the 4th - 7th March 2014, will now be open until the 15th November. The early bird rate for registration has also been extended to the 15th December.
You can also now register via invoice to the conference, by visiting the ICUH 2014 website, simply click the link and follow the instructions. Alternatively, you can choose to pay with a bank transfer, this will require registering via the invoice option and emailing for further instructions on how to make your bank transfer.
The over-arching theme for ICUH2014 is “Crossing Boundaries – Partnerships for Global Urban Health”. Abstract submission does not have to be confined to this subject and there will be no weighting applied to this topic when abstracts are chosen.
ISUH, in partnership with the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC), Manchester Urban Collaboration on Health (MUCH) and the New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM) will be hosting the conference at Manchester Central Convention Centre in the heart of the city centre. The conference will last for four days, with the first day (Tuesday 4th March) focusing on pre-conferences and site visits to health, educational, historical and cultural places of interest in and around the city.
The following three days (Wednesday 5th - Friday 7th March) will consist of a wide range of plenary lectures by world renowned guest speakers. There will also be hosted workshops, delegate speakers and posters selected through abstract submission. Delegates will have access to all of these facilities throughout the conference.
ICUH is considered to be the world’s premier international forum for information-exchange among urban health stakeholders. It attracts delegates from across the world and from every kind of social, economical and ethnic background. The main objective of ICUH is to gather scientists, practitioners, policy makers and community organisations across disciplines and geographic boundaries from high and low income settings.
Manchester’s rich and important history provides the perfect backdrop for such an esteemed event with the conference being held in the heart of the city centre. This year’s conference will be an integrated, trans-disciplinary conference with the theme “Crossing Boundaries: Partnerships for Global Urban Health”. Delegates can expect plenary talks from some of the biggest and most influential names in urban health and other related fields, along with workshops and exhibits from organisations across the world of health and beyond.
