The 11th International Conference on Urban Health, Manchester, United Kingdom, March 4-7th 2014
Conference Venue
The Manchester Urban Collaboration on Health (MUCH) www.population-health.manchester.ac.uk/epidemiology/MUCH has secured its third major EU grant worth over €600,000 for the development of urban health research in Manchester. Urban Health Centre 2.0 (UHC2.0) will start in early 2014 for three years focusing on public health interventions for healthy ageing in cities. The project will connect Manchester to other major cities across Europe for integrated health and social care pathways, early detection of frailty and prevention of falls. The project will link academic public health with other Faculties, primary care, local authorities and key stakeholders. Dr Arpana Verma, Director of MUCH and the Manchester lead for UHC 2.0 stated “We’re very excited about being the first pilot centre in Manchester, helping us make a difference to the lives of people across other major cities in Europe. Manchester City Council with their partners, the University of Manchester and MICRA are already making noticeable differences, we hope UHC2.0 will augment these activities for the benefit of generations to come...”
This is a major achievement as MUCH is also leading the MAHSC’s 11th International Conference on Urban Health in Manchester Central 4-7th March 2014. Abstract submission and early bird registration available at https://icuh2014.com/
